1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text record a website stores on your device. Browser local storage is a similar technology that lets a website keep information in your browser. UK cookie rules can apply to both.
2. What Our Invite currently uses
| Name or type | Purpose | Typical duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| ido_session | Keeps a signed-in account secure, associates requests with the correct session and supports CSRF protection. | Up to 14 days, or until cleared or invalidated. | Strictly necessary for requested account and security functions. |
| Builder local storage | Saves an invitation draft and builder preferences on the device so work is not immediately lost before or between saves. | Until replaced, the browser/site data is cleared, or the draft is removed. | Used to provide the builder feature requested by the user. |
| Media playback state | The browser may keep temporary technical data needed to load or play selected media. | Normally for the page session or browser-managed cache period. | Necessary to provide requested media. |
The precise session-cookie expiry can be shortened by signing out, browser settings or server-side security controls.
3. What we do not currently use
Our Invite does not currently set analytics, behavioural advertising, cross-site tracking or social-media advertising cookies. Because the storage currently used is strictly necessary for requested functions, Our Invite does not show an accept/reject banner solely for those technologies.
If we add non-essential analytics or marketing technologies, we will update this notice and ask for valid consent before using them where the law requires it. Rejecting non-essential technology will be as easy as accepting it.
4. Third-party content
The site may request fonts from Google Fonts and may load content selected by a user from media or map services. Those providers can receive technical information such as an IP address and browser details, and may apply their own storage when their content is used. Couples should avoid adding third-party embeds unless needed and permitted.
Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies on its secure checkout pages for payment, fraud prevention and security. Stripe controls its own checkout technology and provides separate privacy information.
5. Managing storage
You can delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking the Our Invite session cookie will prevent sign-in and secure dashboard functions. Clearing local storage can remove an unsynchronised builder draft, so save important work first.
